Day 661: Electric Daisy Carnival

Just came back from EDC 2021 and it was an absolute blast. The reason why it’s so much fun is because it’s the kind of place where:

  • You can sit down next to a random couple eating some fries and say “hey, can I kick it with you guys for a little bit” and they reply with “yeah, of course!”, immediately offer you their food, and you have a great time talking about life before you run off to go find your group again
  • You can dance like an absolute degenerate and someone will come up just to tell you that they love your energy
  • You can be as weird as you want and it’s totally fine because everyone else is even weirder
  • You can tell a couple that you dig their outfit and they’ll beam with the brightness of a thousand suns and give you a custom EDC keychain that they made
  • You can discover that despite how much you thought you disliked dubstep and made fun of your ex for loving Excision, it’s actually ridiculously fun to headbang in the middle of a rambunctious crowd while feeling shockwaves of bass reverberate throughout your entire body

that’s on top of the amazing music, shows, fireworks, and spending time with a super fun group of friends
