Day 301: Week 44 Plan
Got an extra hour and still managed to stay up way too late. ANYWAY.
Week 43
Goals
-
Life
-
✅ Be in bed by 12am at least 2 times
- On Thursday, I went to sleep at 11:30PM but I woke up at 2AM and couldn’t fall back asleep so I got up, played Starcraft, wasted time, and went back to sleep at 8AM. Pretty terrible, but hey, I went to bed early so it was a start.
- On Friday, I took 0.3mg of melatonin and OH BOY was it great. I slept for like 11 hours straight and still felt sleepy after waking up. I forgot how effective melatonin can be. I might try taking small doses at 9pmish to encourage myself to go to sleep earlier.
-
❌ Work out at least 2 times, do yoga at least once
- Nooooope. Worked out once, no yoga. I wanted to go running more often, but I figured I’d let my calf fully heal instead of injuring it over and over. I think it’s all better now so excited to ease back into working out! I feel like a fat lard from having been eating a ton and sitting at my desk all day errday for the past week.
-
❌ Meditate for 20+ minutes at least 3 times
- Did it twice. Ruh roh, everything’s slipping like it did when I came home last.
-
-
Browserflow
- ✅ Add remaining flows to gallery
- ✅ Record demos for all flows in gallery
- ✅ Submit Browserflow to Chrome Web Store
BOOM! Took care of all the Browserflow tasks. To be fair though, this is honestly like 1.5 - 2 days amount of work. I purposely wanted to set some light work goals so I can focus on setting up a good personal routine.
Week 44
I’m going to continue in that spirit this week. I found out like an hour or two ago that Browserflow was approved in the Chrome Web Store (!!!) so I can start onboarding more people without having to wait hours for the trusted testers list to update!
Here’s what’s on my mind:
- My Taiwan visa stuff worked out so I can go to Taiwan anytime now
- I’d like to go to Taiwan relatively soon (in the next several weeks), but I have to look more into the logistics like the mandatory quarantine period, their sanctioned hotels, etc.
- If I go to Taiwan soon, then I want to focus on fixing up the house like I mentioned before. I’d probably try to time-box my work to certain hours in the morning or maybe even to certain days of the week so that I can look into making this home more habitable and clean things up.
- There’s also a lot of momentum for Browserflow, both emotionally and logistically. I built a flow today based on a tweet I saw and that was a lot of fun! I want to spend more time building similar flows that are creative.
Questions I need to answer:
- When will I go to Taiwan?
- How do I want to approach fixing things up at home? How much do I want to try to do things myself vs. hire out?
- How do I keep the momentum going for Browserflow without spending all of my time working on it and not doing any house-fixing?
Alright. I’m going to be home for at least two more weeks (probably longer?), and that’s enough time to figure out a lot of the home things. Here’s how I’ll prioritize things:
- Sleep / exercise / nutrition meditation
- House fixing
- Browserflow
I’ll structure my day so that I have to work on things in that order. Otherwise, I’ll start with Browserflow and neglect the rest.
Goals
-
Life
-
Be in bed by 12am at least 3 times
- Bumping it up to three!
-
Work out at least 2 times, do yoga at least once
-
Meditate for 20+ minutes at least 3 times
-
-
House
- Fix or schedule repair of fridge not staying cool
- Thoroughly clean downstairs and upstairs bathroom
- Create spreadsheet with list of house tasks and prioritize them by importance
-
Browserflow
- Onboard three people
- Investigate allowing extracting data in recording mode
-
Other
- Research tax/legal implications of the C-Corp that was created for Hacker Fellowship
I’m most split on what work to do for Browserflow. My options:
- Beta-focused: Add a way for people to pay to join the beta
- Onboarding-focused: Add an onboarding flow and documentation so I’m not the bottleneck
- Product-focused: Fix bugs and try to make more things workable with recording mode for easier use
- Marketing-focused: Add more flows
And of course, there’s always the next major step of looking into running Browserflow in the cloud. But I’ve come to accept that I shouldn’t focus on that right now when I haven’t even fully released the local-only version.
Oh man, and then there’s Intention, which I’m getting quite a lot of feedback about since it became featured on Mozilla’s Addons page. I should also add a paid plan like I wanted to like 8 months ago now….
There’s so much I want to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
