Day 289: Browserflow Gallery Initial Set
The Browserflow gallery. I started talking about building it over 9 weeks ago (!!!) but didn’t make meaningful progress towards building it until very recently. It’s surprising and scary that I spent over two months knowing what I need to do but not doing anything about it. Well, it’s finally happening now.
The reason why I think the gallery is critical is due to my hypothesis for how users will discover and adopt Browserflow:
- People find a Browserflow solution for a particular use case (e.g. easily add an email to their task tracking app)
- They discover other flows via the gallery
- They start using pre-made flows regularly
- They learn how to build their own flows and share some, which brings more people to step 1
My hope is that I can make building flows so simple that everyone can make it to step 4. Right now, building a flow is pretty easy but not easy enough. There are still places where people might get stuck, and that means that it’s my job to remove those hurdles so that it’s seamless to transition from using flows to editing/creating flows.
Yesterday I couldn’t do anything because I was getting wrecked by allergies all day long, but I did manage to come up with a list of flows I’d like to include in the initial gallery. This is far more than the “three initial flows” that I had in mind, but I’ve already built most of these so it shouldn’t require too much work to create the rest of the flows.
