Day 151: 100 Hours
I hit my 100th hour working on the new project today, and since I started last Tuesday, that means I’ve spent an average of 10 hours a day for the past 10 days on it.
Those are on-task, focused hours actively coding, so it’s not much of an exaggeration to say that it’s basically been all I’ve been doing and thinking about.
I also created issue #100 and closed it today, so it looks like today is the day of 100-based milestones.
Although it’s still got a ways to go, it’s starting to actually become useful. No one has used it except for me at this point, but I’m not too concerned about that because this is (yet another) project that I’m building primarily for myself so it would be okay even if few others found it valuable.
At this point, I’m kind of sick of keeping it under wraps and would rather share it, but I told myself in the beginning that I’d do it with a demo video rather than by describing it through words so it’ll be another few days.
Tonight’s the first night where I’m feeling a bit pooped so I’m going to head to bed early and try to fall asleep before midnight for the first time in nearly two weeks. I just opened my sleep log to see how long it’s been since that’s happened and realized that I haven’t filled out my hours for the past several days. When I forget to fill out the log that I’ve been keeping for years, that’s how I know that things are really getting whack. I’m tired, but I’m pleased. Good night.
