Day 134: Hermit Destiny
Work that feels enjoyable:
- Building things
- Learning better ways to build things
Work that doesn’t feel enjoyable:
- Most everything else
Even though I know that other stuff like marketing, responding to users, writing docs, etc. is important and often more impactful than writing code, it’s never quite satisfying.
I suspect that this has less to do with the type of work and more to do with how the work is done. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being fully absorbed in my work and having everything else melt away. When I’m writing emails or even dashing off these posts, it never quite gets to that level of depth.
Maybe I’m destined to be a hermit…?
