Day 577: braindump
random assortment of thoughts:
- my friend david sent me an 8 minute recording of him talking through his thoughts on how to market browserflow and i was super touched that he took the time to do that (also b/c his suggestions are really good and things i had been thinking about)
- the strategy, in short, is to build flows for many different niches until i find one that sticks. then i repeat it for other niches since browserflow is super flexible
- the potential customer that i thought i had lost by not pushing ended up buying a monthly subscription today. building out flows for his team to try to save them oodles of time
- building out flows for customers is GREAT because i can clearly see where the product is lacking / needs adjustments. for example, the customer above needs to run the same flow for many different accounts (they’re an agency) and while there is a way to do this by duplicating a flow a bunch of times, it’s clear that it makes a lot more sense to be able to run the same flow with custom variables
- need to make some significant adjustments to support the case above and this is when i wish i had another engineer working with me
- sales and working with customers is turning out to be a lot of fun because the people pleaser side of me is happy to make customers happy
- i may need to rethink my pricing strategy because a common automation is to loop through a spreadsheet and perform an action for every row. since flows have a maximum execution time of 1 minute until the $99/month plan, it means that flows end up timing out when there are a lot of rows. maybe increase the execution time for lower plans? but i have to deal with this somehow because even when it’s longer, it’ll still time out in some cases. hm.
- omg i’m gonna be in peru starting on monday
- excited for the retreat but i’m also very much in super work mode so i’m excited to get back to work too???
- life is exciting
