Day 536: brain dump

how long has it been since i’ve actually put effort into a post instead of vomiting my stream of consciousness? who knows

  • left hawaii and flew into sf today and boy, the energy of the city was intoxicating. i’m so excited to be here

  • out of all the places i’ve lived in and traveled to, sf feels most like “home” because it has the highest concentration of close friends

  • the last time i lived in sf was 2016 — 5 years ago! holy smokes

  • i’m staying at chris and vicky’s apartment and it felt so much like a home the moment i walked in. they’ve put so much care and thought into every part of the living experience here, from the working setup (i’m using vicky’s setup and i’m so stoked to be using this giant monitor with a standing desk (and a standing mat!!)) to all the plants and art throughout the place (i hope to be a good plant daddy because some of them are really strugglin)

  • i feel like i’ve straight up won the friend lottery because i’m continually amazed by how generous and kind my friends are. this is in spite of the fact that i feel like i’ve objectively been a bad friend in the sense that i’m always bouncing around everywhere and don’t get to spend enough time in one place to deepen my friendships over a prolonged period of time. but at the same time, i feel lucky in that i’ve been able to nurture these bonds via co-living situations in the past several month

  • this past month in hawaii was so dope. surfing again was fun (reminded me of traveling down central america and being a bum in random surf towns) and the crew i was with was amazing — it’s not often you find a group of people who you feel immediately comfortable with and can have conversations ranging from joking around about having deadbeat dads to sharing our core life philosophies. luv u vicky, chris, brian, lydia, and ivan

  • i’m in sf for a wedding, and i don’t really have plans after a week or so here. my original plan was to go back to vegas for a bit but now i’m thinking of either staying in sf for a while or moving to nyc for a bit or maybe just yoloing to korea. i honestly have no idea where i’m going to be in 2 weeks and i guess this has been my life for a while now

  • uncertainty is uncomfortable at first but when you drop yourself in the ocean of uncertainty and learn to float, you get used to it after a while. riding the waves can be pretty fun

  • on the flight over, i thought of make browserflow’s recording experience much easier for non-technical folks and i’m excited to build it out

    • the fact that people need to watch a video tutorial to figure out how to use browserflow feels like a failing of the product. i want it be intuitive enough where people can figure things out just by messing around for a while
  • ok i should sleep now so that i’m fully recharged for eric’s wedding tomorrow yippeeee
