Day 493: living in community

I’m currently staying with Ben and Mai, and they live a 3-minute walk from Marco, who’s put together a collective of creatives called Red Door TV. Some group members are either already living in the house, live nearby and visit often, or are moving in soon, so there’s always a fun community of people to hang out with.

My daily routine now consists of working on Browserflow during the day then spending the evenings working out, playing tennis, or just hanging out with everyone, and I love it. On some days, I want to just continue hacking away at Browserflow because I’m in the middle of some sticky problem, but I force myself to step away because I’d already committed to say, working out at a certain time with everyone. And every single time, without fail, I feel grateful that the commitment helped pull me out of the c0d3 z0n3 and made me connect with other people rather than to bits moving around in a metal box.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a dope community basically everywhere I’ve gone in recent years, and while it may not always look like a house with 40+ people, having home be a social place by default is something I’d like to continue doing for as long as I can. PPL R GR8
