Day 455: Week 66 Plan

status

i am getting rekt by allergies even though i’m popping antihistamine pills because i decided to ventilate my room by opening my bedroom window yesterday but little did i know that the window has been closed for thousands of years and would release a dust cloud of ungodly proportions that coated my room in dust

been sneezing and feeling congested and exhausted with a headache for almost all of yesterday and today

life is hard sometimes

ordered an air purifier and hoping it’ll arrive asap so that i can get some relief from this onslaught

i miss the good old days when my body didn’t go into full panic mode due to inhaling some dust mite poop

it’s terrible not feeling safe in your own bedroom or home

Week 65

  • Foundation

    • ❌ Go to sleep before 11pm at least 3 times

      • I got close — did it twice and slept another night at 11:30pm but with my recent coding binge it’s been bad again

  • Browserflow

    • ✅ Support basic web scraping with Get Element Text in the cloud
    • ❌ Support web scraping with Loop Elements in the cloud
    • ✅ Support scheduling scraping runs

Extremely pleased with the work I got done this week. Feel like all the pieces are coming together.

Week 66

I’m tempted to work on a feature that allows users to send themselves an email when it meets some condition (e.g. some part of a website has changed), but the functionality I have right now of saving data to Google Sheets is useful enough to get customers.

I’m going to focus on coming up with premium plans + support for collecting payment so I can finally get this off the ground.

Goals

    • Go to sleep before 11pm at least 3 times

  • Browserflow

    • Move to a monorepo

      • Currently, developing a feature requires making changes across three different repos: the extension, the website, and Firebase functions. It leads to a lot of code duplication and difficult coordination so I want to move to a monorepo. It seems like this might take up a half or full day due to all the changes required to my configuration and extracting common bits.

    • Support web scraping with Loop Elements in the cloud

    • Come up with plans and pricing

    • Enforce plans and pricing in app

  • Other

    • 2020 taxes
