Day 231: Week 34 Plan
Week 33
Wow, what a week.
Fire in Santa Cruz → Evacuation → Came back to LA → Took my grandpa to the ER → Kept him company before his operation tomorrow where he’ll get a pacemaker.
I’m too tired to do a proper reflection of the week. Suffice it to say that I didn’t get much work done on Browserflow.
Week 34
It’s a no-plan/minimal-plan kind of week. Here are some things I’d like to do:
-
Work out at least once so that I can get rid of friction (not knowing where to work out, getting a pull-up bar, etc.)
- Shouldn’t be too hard since my workout routine is based on calisthenics anyway. Will mostly be about willpower.
-
Fix bugs and make minor improvements to Browserflow
- I don’t want to commit to a big feature, but I want to keep the codebase fresh in my mind instead of losing context
That’s pretty much it. Assuming my grandpa’s operation goes well tomorrow, I imagine I’ll be able to start spending more time doing my usual stuff even though I’ll probably still need to spend some time helping him out.
I spent all day with him today at St. Jude, and it went pretty well! He’s in high spirits and I didn’t get a headache that made me want to bash my skull open so that was nice. We watched some tennis and boxing together (the hospital TV even has a Korean channel, probably due to the large Korean population here) and he lectured me about the different Judas’s in the Bible when explaining who “St. Jude” was.
Even though I’ve found parts of this difficult, I’m quite glad to be home and to be able to spend time with him in this way and make this process easier for him.
