Day 203: Week 30 Plan
Week 29
I planned to take things a bit easy this past week, and I succeeded! Spent a lot of time hanging out with my housemates doing things like
-
Celebrating my birthday and playing Monopoly

-
Going to the beach (Four Mile Beach in Santa Cruz is epic)

-
Watching a movie
- We watched Midsommar which was well-made but if I could un-watch that movie, I would
-
Getting take-out from a Mexican restaurant
-
First time going inside a restaurant in forever! It was super weird talking to someone who isn’t one of my housemates. Reminded me of the transition leaving the 3-month meditation in 2018

-
The one thing that I had planned for work was to create a basic landing page, and I did it! I also posted a demo of me using Browserflow to automate saving things to Roam, which led to 38 sign ups for the Browserflow beta thanks to Conor (creator of Roam) retweeting it.
Snippets
-
Done (Planned)
- Create a super basic landing page with just the logo and a link to sign up for the beta
-
Done (Unplanned)
- Create a demo of using Browserflow with Roam
Week 30
I have two areas of focus for this week:
- Create more demos
- Improve Browserflow’s usability
Making these demos is not only fun and great for marketing, but they help me discover areas for improvement and identify bugs because I’m actually using Browserflow to automate a variety fo tasks.
There’s a special challenge with building a tool like Browserflow in that because there’s so much you can do with it, it’s hard for people to imagine what they’d use it for. A blank sheet of paper is way more intimidating than an exercise from a coloring book.
With these demos, I’m hoping to showcase the kinds of things you can use Browserflow for and attract people who are just itching to start building flows of their own.
As for usability, there’s much low-hanging fruit that I don’t know where to start. Maybe I’ll try onboarding another person this week and see where they get stuck in order to identify the most valuable areas to work on?
