Day 188: What Really Matters

Since this journal is primarily focused around the question “Can I make a living building things I love?” the content here tends to revolve around themes like engineering, product, marketing, sales, and productivity.

But it’s critical to remember that in the bigger picture, none of these things really matter.

The important questions in life aren’t

  • What tech stack am I using?
  • What’s my monthly recurring revenue?
  • Do people like what I’ve made?

but rather

  • Am I kind?
  • Do I love well?
  • What is my state of being?

This post is as much a reminder to myself in my moments of short-sightedness as it is for others who are also on the journey of forging their own path. When pursuing any goal or passion, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget that every moment of consciousness is a miracle to be celebrated and enjoyed.
