There's an ongoing situation that's felt challenging lately, and I ended up writing about it in a private journal outside of Road to Ramen. I would love to write about it here because I want to use this as a space to experiment with being vulnerable and authentic with difficult feelings and situations, but the fact that the people who are involved read Road to Ramen makes that a non-starter because it'd directly affect what's happening.

Some solutions for this:

  1. Write the post anyway, encrypt it, and decrypt it after some pre-designated time has passed (e.g. a month)
  2. Publish each post some time (e.g. a month, a year?) after it's written

I'm also considering just making my journal private for 2021 and only sharing it with my closest friends. That would allow me to write and share freely in real-time without censoring myself when it's related to ongoing situations. One of my favorite aspects of sharing this journal with others is that sometimes friends reach out with really great advice or thoughts, and I'd like to continue to allow those interactions.

I'm two days away from having written an entry every day for an entire year so it's a nice occasion to rethink the mediums I use for self-expression and sharing. Currently leaning towards having the private journal for personal matters and making Road to Ramen into a weekly blog where I share things specifically related to creating an indie business (the original intent of R2R).
